Amazon will overwrite a handling time that is more than a day too slow

Action needed In force 2026-09-01 US · UK · DE · FR · IT · ES

If your stated handling time has been a day or more longer than your actual performance for over 30 days, Amazon switches that SKU to automated handling time.

What changed

From 2026-09-01, where an SKU's handling time is one or more days longer than actual performance for more than 30 days, Amazon enables automated handling time for those SKUs to reflect real performance.

Who it catches

All sellers using Fulfilled by Merchant with handling time set above measured performance.

What to do

Compare configured handling time against actual dispatch performance. Being slower than reality costs conversion; being faster costs late shipment rate. Both are visible in General Delivery Settings and the Account Health dashboard.
